A lady who experienced a lifetime-saving lung transplant has explained to BBC Radio 5 Reside about the near partnership she’s produced with her donor’s family members, which includes being walked down the aisle on her marriage ceremony working day by her donor’s father.
Lisa Simkin from Nottingham, experienced the surgical procedure in 2013. Her donor was 33-12 months-outdated Rhona, who had died of a brain haemorrhage days right after offering start to her next youngster.
6 months right after the transplant, Lisa wrote a thank you letter to Rhona’s household, and explained the family “opened their doorway with loving arms”.
